CURRENTLY SEEKING NEW CAFE OPERATOR AT LOT 19

!!! RENT FREE !!!

A huge thank you to Kelly Lorback from Dulce Lunar who operated our cafe throughout 2019.  Unfortunately for us Kelly has moved on to new things this year so we are on the look out for someone to take on this great opportunity!  Did we mention it’s RENT-FREE?!!

What are we looking for?

Lot 19 is a magical place all year round and we want to be open to the public more often. We’re currently seeking someone to create the perfect food and coffee joint to match our eclectic and dynamic art gallery, studios, and event space.

What is the rent?

We understand that starting a food business has risks so we’re making this opportunity as accessible as possible. We’re offering the space rent-free!!!

Rent to be reviewed after a 6 month period. Rent will be negotiable and will reflect your business’s income.  (Get in touch if you have more Qs about this.)

What about utilities?

Utilities will be charged to you – gas and electricity.  The kitchen is on a seperate electricity meter so readings will only relate to your direct usage.  Gas equipment is run on a bottle – you’ll be responsible for making sure it is full.

What about equipment?

We have a certified, commercial kitchen at Lot 19 with outdoor seating, and a nice large window to sell your products from.

We have a coffee machine, a cool room and other fridges/freezers, a commercial convection oven, a gas oven, stovetop, and various crockery and other bits and pieces.  You will need to supply some of your own pots, pans, trays, utensils.

What are the hours?

We have a full programme in the gallery and we’re all set to be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in 2019, 10am-5pm.

Other opportunities with a captive audience/customers will include: exhibition opening events (approx. every third Friday evening), occasional weddings & parties, gigs, festivals, well attended annual events such as the Spring Sculpture Show & Castlemaine Idyll.

Outside of this we are more than happy to discuss additional opening hours as you see fit.

Setting the Scene:

You’d be in charge of creating the vibe, and getting the word out there to the community. You can come up with the name and the menu you think will be best suited to Castlemaine.

We’re happy to give guidance on your menu and other details where appropriate – we’ve been here for a while so know bit about the audience, plus we know some darned great local suppliers of meat, veg, coffee, and other produce.

We can assist with the marketing of your food business through our Lot 19 networks on social media, our website, and face to face.
