2012 proposal information


We are developing a dynamic, new program for 2012 and are seeking innovative works from all areas of the art spectrum, with special consideration to emerging artists and artisans.

The gallery, located in Castlemaine, comprises three spaces (including the outdoor sculpture park) which can be utilised separately or as one total space.

The space has both natural light (constant southern light) and halogen track lighting, as well as a performance lighting rig in the Gallery. Portable walls are available.

The annex can be darkened for multi-media work and a new data projector is available.

Lot 19 welcomes proposals from 2D and 3D artists wanting a solo exhibition or shared space, groups and graduates.

Applications for theatre, film and performance works are also welcomed. The gallery is also available for functions, and has a commercial kitchen and liquor licence, as well as adequate outdoor seating.

We are aiming for a diverse and inclusive program nestled around our ongoing Salon shows.

Thurs – Fri: 10-4pm

Sat – Sun: 12-5pm

Gallery:$350 (Solo Show)

$450 (Group Show)

Annex: $150

Sculpture Garden:   $200

All 3: $700

Commission: 20%

Deposit: $200 (to be paid upon success of your application)

Full amount due: 6 weeks prior to opening night

Lot 19 will:

  • Advertise in Trouble, press release to Castlemaine Independent, local radio and print media
  • Design email flyer and send to contact list (over 700 people)
  • Include flyer on our website
  • Provide assistance with artist bios and statements
  • Curate the show (unless otherwise agreed during application process)
  • Provide public liability insurance
  • Lot 19 will oversee the returning of the gallery to it’s original condition
  • Open the licensed cafe on opening day / night

Please include the following in your proposal:

  • Exhibition Proposal Form
  • CD with visual support material in JPEG format (5-15 images)
  • 250 words outlining proposed show
  • Current CV/Selection of CVs from exhibiting artists

Installation : 10 – 5pm Wed prior to opening (or by appointment)

Opening Night: Thurs 5:30 – 7:30

Exhibitions run for 3 weeks
