Castlemaine IDYLL: My Fantasy Life – 14 March

Lot19 Art Space presents “Castlemaine IDYLL: My Fantasy Life” this coming Saturday March 14th. The spectacularly rambunctious community event, now in its 7th year, is always well attended by locals and visitors alike, who go each year to soak up the good vibes and check out the town’s latest talent.

A competition like no other, spectators can expect brilliant singing and performances by local legends, and legends in the making. Each participant will have a professional band to back them, along with a crowd full of enthusiastic supporters in the audience.

The local talent range from young and old, experienced and novice. Each singer, competing for the much-coveted Idyll trophy, will be critiqued by local professionals: Casey Bennetto, Dan Kelly and Kirsten Krauth, who will decide on this year’s winners.

The theme is My Fantasy Life and contestants have chosen from a curated list of recognisable hits, or they are invited to sing their own favourite track from within the theme.

This year the event is part of the Arts Open programme; an arts festival showcasing more than 90 artists from across the region, many of whom are featured at the Lot 19 venue, main gallery and studio complex.

The full day of family-friendly entertainment will start at 3pm and go into the evening, with food and beverages available throughout. Early visitors can check out the art works across the venue on their way.
